AMD confirms AMD Radeon RX Vega presentation at SIGGRAPH

It has been hard to get but it’s official, AMD has confirmed the presentation of the AMD Radeon RX Vega at SIGGRAPH this year, an event which will take place from July 30.

AMD Radeon RX Vega

The announcement of the AMD Radeon RX Vega is one of the most anticipated and important of all that has pending the signature of Sunnyvale, not in vain it is its new top of range for the graphic sector that is called to become the successor of the Radeon R9 Fury X.

The first tests of performance in games that have been realized with the Radeon Vega Frontier Edition have generated opposite sensations. In some games it manages to position very close to the GTX 1080 Ti and even surpasses it little at specific moments (Fallout 4 for example in QHD), while in others it is between a GTX 1070 and a GTX 1080.

This has served to generate a certain controversy, but as we have always said we must be clear that the Radeon Vega Frontier Edition is a graphics card that is aimed at the professional sector and is not designed especially for games.

AMD’s own employees have positioned themselves right in that direction, and have commented that it is premature to judge the performance of a gaming-oriented product by the performance of its version for the professional sector.

After seeing how well the company has done with RYZEN and taking into account the role of drivers and performance optimization, it is clear that AMD deserves the benefit of the doubt.

On the other hand the performance of the Radeon Vega Frontier Edition in professional applications, its real territory, is very good, something that unfortunately no one seems to have wanted to echo.
