AMD Radeon RX Vega: Great graphics power at a price

AMD has taken advantage of the SIGGRAPH framework to officially introduce the AMD Radeon RX Vega, the expected next-generation dedicated graphics cards, which should be an alternative to NVIDIA in high-end desktop solutions.

AMD Radeon RX Vega

In 2016, AMD made major investments in hardware, marketing and software in the Radeon Technologies Group with the goal of getting out of a runaway crisis that led it to lose ground in graphics against NVIDIA and processors against Intel. And it looks like it’s getting it. If new RYZEN processors may be the first real alternative to Intel models for a few years, VEGA graphics may be NVIDIA graphics.

The company claims that the AMD Radeon RX Vega are the most powerful dedicated graphics ever marketed by the company for the consumer market. AMD thus completes its new graphics catalog started with the “Polaris” series for the low and medium range, and finally raises direct competition to NVIDIA in high end / enthusiast solutions.

The firm has not been too specific about overall performance versus NVIDIA’s GTX, but given the specifications / price they look great on paper. In addition, they will also be marketed in discounted price packages with processors and boards for RYZEN or 4K monitors from Samsung, which will further lower the complete assembly of a good performance PC.

Specifications and Models of AMD Radeon RX Vega

AMD’s new graphics are marketed in three Radeon RX Vega 64 Liquid Cooled, Radeon RX Vega 64 and Radeon RX Vega 56 models. All three are based on the Vega 10 architecture, use advanced HBM2 memory and feature careful design.

Of course, AMD includes full support for APIs such as DirectX 12_1 and Vulkan, and includes its most advanced graphics technologies to support FreeSync, HDR, HDMI 2.0 – 4K60, DisplayPort 1.45, Radeon WattMan, AMD LiquidVR 360, and more.

In 32-bit pixel format configurations, we can connect up to 6 4K 60 Hz or 8K to 60 Hz monitors, while in 64-bit pixel format with HDR, we will be able to connect 3 4K 60 Hz or 4K monitors to 120 Hz.
