The Sunnyvale firm has confirmed the official launch of the AMD Radeon Vega Frontier Edition, a top-of-the-line graphics card that is aimed at the professional sector and as we know uses the graphic core Vega 10 XT.
At the level of specifications the Radeon Vega Frontier Edition has:
- 4,096 shaders.
- 256 texture units.
- 64 raster units.
- 048 bit bus.
- 16 GB of HBM2.
- 1 TFLOPs of power in single precision (FP32).
As we already anticipated in previous articles the AMD Radeon Vega Frontier Edition is available in two versions, one that uses an air cooling system based on a turbine fan and another that installs a liquid cooling system.
The first has a TDP of 300W and the second reaches 375W, the latter being slightly more powerful and also cooler thanks to the greater effectiveness of its cooling system. Both versions use two 8-pin power connectors.
According to the results published by AMD this new graphics solution is capable of exceeding in a 33% the performance of the Tesla P100 of NVIDIA in tests like DeepBench (deep learning).
On the contrary in Radeon ProRender, the AMD Radeon Vega Frontier Edition rendering engine is capable of rendering materials up to 172% faster than NVIDIA’s GTX TITAN Xp.
The air-cooled version is now available for reservation at leading retailers priced at $ 999. On the contrary the version with liquid refrigeration will be available during the third quarter and will have an official price of 1,499 dollars.
We do not yet have the prices for few countries, but taking into account what we saw in this news we can make it clear that they are very good figures and that in the end we have fulfilled our forecasts, since the prices we saw in those early listings were inflated.
