AMD RYZEN 3 Processors: Specifications and Price

Sunnyvale has launched the new AMD RYZEN 3 processors, a range that currently stands as the most affordable to access the platform AM4 and is just below the RYZEN 5.

AMD has confirmed the launch of two processors in this new range, the RYZEN 3 1300X and the RYZEN 3 1200.

Both have four real cores and four threads, which means that although they position as economic solutions are able to offer a good level of performance both single-threaded and multi-threaded.

Here is a complete summary of the specifications and prices of these new processors:

RYZEN 3 1300X:

  • Four cores at 3.4 GHz in base mode and 3.7 GHz in turbo mode.
  • 2 MB of L2 cache (512 KB per core).
  • 8 MB of L3 cache shared by all four cores.
  • 65 watt TDP.
  • Supports overclocking with motherboards that use chipset B350 or X370.
  • Price: $ 129.

RYZEN 3 1200:

  • Four cores at 3.1 GHz in base mode and 3.4 GHz in turbo mode.
  • 2 MB of L2 cache (512 KB per core).
  • 8 MB of L3 cache shared by all four cores.
  • 65 watt TDP.
  • Supports overclocking with motherboards that use chipset B350 or X370.
  • Price: 109 dollars.

As we see the only difference that presents both processors are the working frequencies. The first comes from home at a higher speed, but given that both support overclocking their potential performance is virtually the same.

Overclocking the new AMD processors based on the ZEN architecture is very easy thanks to the RYZEN Master tool and the series 3 is no exception.

This will allow us to improve the performance without any cost and in a safe way, since with that tool it is possible to adjust both the frequencies and the voltages of the processor and have a clear glance at all times of the working temperatures.

AMD has indicated that both compete directly with the Intel Core i3 7300 and Core i3 7100, but thanks to its four real cores and overclocking it is very likely that the RYZEN 3 1300X and 1200 will end up delivering a performance very similar to the Core i5 7400.
