BlackBerry KeyOne: Specs, Release Date and Price

BlackBerry KEYone is TCL’s penultimate attempt to relaunch the legendary Canadian brand. After some delays, today the US terminal is put up for sale with an official price of 550 dollars.

BlackBerry KEYONE, known as the BlackBerry Mercury, was officially unveiled at the Barcelona Mobile Congress. It is the first fully designed terminal built and supervised by the Chinese corporation TCL, which has the responsibility to resuscitate the brand, in the same way that HMD Global intends to recover the Nokia brand.

BlackBerry KEYONE is a terminal with the physical keyboard that made famous a brand that headed the professional market for a decade. It has backlighting for use in dark places and is tactile, including a fingerprint reader on the space key.

No doubt the physical keyboard is the differentiating aspect of this terminal manufactured in an aluminum chassis combined with a gummy finish on the back (usual on BlackBerry), looking for a premium finish. All other features are known and begin with a screen of 4.63 inches with a native resolution of 1620 × 1080 pixels. An unusual display in the mobile industry but that comes from its concept and the inclusion of the keyboard.

Specifications BlackBerry KEYone:

  • 5 inch screen with a resolution of 1,620 x 1,080 pixels.
  • SoC Snapdragon 625 with Cortex-A53 eight-core CPU.
  • GPU Adreno 605.
  • 3 GB of RAM.
  • 32 GB expandable storage capacity with microSD.
  • Cameras of 12 MP and 8 MP.
  • 505 mAh battery with fast charge 3.0.
  • BlackBerry-KEYone

With Android 7.0 pre-installed, the terminal is available from today in the United States. The price for Europe will be 599 euros. Good terminal but not with specifications of top of range and a price that – in the consumer market – will cost to sell.
