Characteristics of the international Samsung Galaxy C7 2017 in GeekBench

In the popular benchmark GeekBench, the technical characteristics of the likely international version of Samsung Galaxy C7 2017 with the model number SM-C710F were lit. Until now, smartphones lineup Galaxy C intended to be sold exclusively in the Chinese market.

According to the “extract” from the benchmark database, this same Galaxy C7 2017 SM-C710F is based on the MediaTek Helio P20 (MT6757) chipset, which is uncharacteristic for the South Korean giant. The latter usually uses mobile processors of its own production, or from Qualcomm.

It is also indicated that the international Samsung Galaxy C7 2017 will receive 4 GB of RAM and will run the mobile OS Android 7.1.1 Nougat. Probably, with the proprietary shell TouchWiz (but this GeekBench cannot be determined).

There is some probability that the benchmark software incorrectly defined the processor, and behind the MT6757 is a new, not yet announced, chipset from Samsung itself with similar characteristics. However, usually in such cases, GeekBench writes something like the Unknown Board (an unknown platform).

If the Galaxy C7 2017 SM-C710F is based on the MediaTek Helio P20, then we should expect about the same 5.7-inch Super AMOLED screen with a resolution of FullHD 1080 × 1920 pixels, support for 4G LTE Category 6 (300 Mbit / C – download of data, 50 Mb / s – transfer).

It is worth noting that the GeekBench data is generally consistent with the description of the Chinese version of Samsung Galaxy C7 2017 in TENAA (China Telecommunications Certification Center):

  • Eight-core CPU
  • 4 Gb of RAM
  • Support for WiFi 802.11ac 2.4 + 5 GHz (based on MT6757)
  • FullHD screen (same)

It is expected that Samsung Galaxy C7 2017 will be one of the first smartphones of the Korean giant, which will have a dual main camera. The resolution of the main sensor is 12 MP, the auxiliary sensor is 5 MP. The main task of such a tandem, as in the case of competitors, is to get the “bokeh” effect.
