Flagship smartphone Samsung Galaxy S9 will receive a 4K UltraHD +

According to rumors, the flagship smartphone Samsung Galaxy S9 coming out in 2018 will receive a new super-sharp screen with an incredible resolution of 4K UltraHD + 4440 × 2160 pixels. At the same time, the screen diagonal will be 5.7-5.8 inches that is almost like the current Galaxy S8.

In principle, nothing particularly incredible in this: the Korean giant has long been preparing the matrix Super AMOLED with such characteristics. For the first time in public, they were introduced last year, so it is only about establishing mass production.

There are, however, a couple of great “nuances” that can affect the appearance of the flagship Samsung Galaxy S9 and S9 Plus screens 4K UltraHD.

Due to the fact that Samsung this year decided to make a mass-market smartphone concept with a large frameless screen, the Galaxy S8 price sharply increased compared to its predecessors. Despite the bold innovative design, the novelty is not sold as well as we would like.

If the flagship Samsung Galaxy S9 will cost even more – how well will it be sold then? Moreover, the novelty will be peppered with expensive components. For example, a dual main camera and a built-in screen fingerprint scanner.

At the moment, for smartphone screens “above the roof” is missing QHD, and Chinese manufacturers like Xiaomi and OnePlus generally are content with the good old FullHD even in the case of top models. The benefits of huge resolutions can only be in applications of virtual and additional reality.

However, at the moment that Samsung and many other companies have clearly cooled to this topic. Despite active promotion for the last three years, “virtuality” is very limited. Some experts suggest that at this stage mobile VR and AR solutions can repeat the fate of home 3D cinemas.

The only company that produces smartphones with 4K screens is Sony, and even then it only has two such products: Xperia Z5 Premium and Xperia XZ Premium. Neither of those, nor the other from the super-clear display, there is no special benefit. So there is a possibility that Samsung will not equip the Samsung Galaxy S9 with this.
