Full specifications of three Intel Coffee Lake processors

Over the past few days we have had a chance to see enough information about Intel Coffee Lake processors, a generation that will keep the 14nm process but will use a new architecture that will improve performance and efficiency.

To this we must join an increase of the total count of nuclei, since the Intel Coffee Lake processors will raise the maximum of four cores and eight threads in Core i7 to six cores and twelve threads. The same will happen with the Core i5, which will go from having four cores and four threads to having six cores and six threads.

Taking a look at the table that has been leaked we can clearly see that a total of three new processors are listed and that we have detailed all their fundamental keys, including up to the base and turbo frequencies.

The table is quite clear but so that you can interpret the data more easily I leave a summary of the most important:

Model 1: It has six cores and a TDP of 95W. They do not indicate the threads but most likely we are facing the Core i7 8700K, which means that it will have twelve threads thanks to HyperThreading technology. Its base working frequency is 3.7 GHz but can reach 4 GHz with all active cores and 4.3 GHz with an active core. Adds 12 MB of L3 cache.

Model 2: It has six cores and a TDP of 95W. Its base working frequency is 3.2 GHz, which coupled with its high TDP leads us to think that it could be the Core i5 8600K. If this is confirmed it would have six threads since it will lack HyperThreading technology. It can reach 3.4 GHz in turbo mode with all active cores and 3.6 GHz with a single active core. It has 12 MB of L3 cache.

Model 3: Maintains the six cores but its TDP is 65W. It could be a Core i7 series T (low power) or Core i7 8700 with multiplier blocked. It works at 3.1 GHz base frequency but can reach 3.9 GHz with all active cores and 4.1 GHz with an active core. It has 12 MB of L3 cache.
