HP Envy x2 13inches and 15inches hybrid PC: Review, Specs, Features

HP has just released latest generation of its hybrid mobile device Envy x2 and added two new devices in the series HP Envy x2 13inches and HP Envy x2 15inches. Both the models are pretty interesting and hybrid.

The newly launched Envy x2 13inch model and Envy x2 15-inch model has equipped with a stand with adjustable tilt and comes with proprietary wireless keyboard. Furthermore, it boasts a loop on the left side edge of the keyboard into which the stylus is inserted.

Hybrid mobile PC HP Envy x2 is available in two versions with a display diagonal of 13.3 and 15.6 inches respectively as discussed above. In the first case, a display resolution of 1366×768 pixels, and the second – 1920×1080 pixels. However, in the case of the 13.3-inch model provides the option to install the screen resolution of Full HD. Both versions are based on the latest Intel Core M chips with the architecture of Broadwell.

While the similarities between the Surface Pro 3 and HP Envy x2 are clear, hybrid tablet and laptop from HP is heavier and thicker than competing solutions from Microsoft, despite the use of fanless design and the absence of visible vents. So the 13-inch version of the Envy x2 has thickness of 13.7 mm with a keyboard weighs 1.28 kg. For comparison, the thickness and weight of Surface Pro 3 is 9.1 mm and 800 g.

The cost of the 13-inch version of the Envy x2 starts at $ 799, and the 15-inch model – from $ 749. The price difference between the models is quite logical explanation: in the version with a smaller diagonal screen is used SSD, and a 15-inch version – the hard drive of 500 GB and a rotational speed of 5400 rev / min. Modification with a 15.6-inch display also features a 16GB internal flash memory. The RAM can be 4 or 8 GB.

Among other features of the hybrid mobile PC HP Envy x2 is worth noting the presence of slot for memory cards SD, sound system Beats Audio and interesting design of the keyboard.
