Flagship smartphone Samsung Galaxy S8 was introduced just a few months ago, and the next model Samsung Galaxy S9 will hit the market until next year. However, in the base of Geekbench test data is already some evidence of this model. Probably, the database was one of the preliminary engineering sample devices called SM-G9650.
According to test results, Samsung Galaxy S9 smartphone contains not yet announced a Snapdragon processor 845 (sdm845). Apparently, for this chip Qualcomm again chose the 4-core configuration. The processor is clocked at 1.78 GHz.
According to preliminary data, it is manufactured according to the standards 7-nanometer manufacturing process, TSMC’s company, rather than the Samsung, like in previous years.
The reason for the change was the contract manufacturer is the production process for chips. TSMC promises to manufacture products on a 7-nm process technology, while Samsung could only offer 8-nanometer process technology.
Snapdragon 845 processor was able to score in the test is only 7371 points, which is significantly less than the result demonstrated the processor in Galaxy S8 models – more than 9,000 points.
As for the other technical characteristics of the smartphone Samsung Galaxy S9 (SM-G9650), the device has a RAM capacity of 4 GB and runs on Android 7.1.2 operating system. Previous rumors indicated that the next flagship smartphone Samsung Exynos processor will get made at rates of 8-nanometer manufacturing process, a thin face, a fingerprint reader on the front panel and dual camera module on the rear panel.
