In a WWDC 2017 with more news than expected, Apple has surprised almost everyone by presenting a professional version of its all in one: that’s the new Apple iMac Pro 2017.
Apple responds to the demands of professional users by turning the iMac into a workstation in a format never seen before: combining the best design concepts of the proposal we knew so far with hardware, now yes, at the height of what which demand the most advanced users have presented a dream team.
Apple iMac Pro 2017 will feature an 8-core Intel Core Xeon processor (in future, there will be versions with up to 18 cores), which features a 27-inch 5K Retina Display, 32 Gbytes of standard RAM and a single SSD of one terabyte of capacity.
Regarding graphics power, will have models of the Vega family of AMD, top of the range of the manufacturer for professional user. According to the data offered by Apple in the presentation, we are facing a machine capable of reaching 22 teraflops. Textually “the most powerful Mac ever created”. Apple iMac Pro 2017, price and availability
The price of the new Apple iMac Pro starts from $ 4,999 for the most basic configuration (8-color Xeon, 32 Gbytes RAM, 1 TB SSD). In words of the company, a similar PC reaches the 7,000 dollars. The equipment will be available from December.
Is this the Mac Pro replacement? Will Apple convince the professional user with an all-in-one format? It will have to be seen, but at least the first consequence of this novelty is that the prices of the non-Pro iMac have moderated considerably.
