A few weeks ago, FDA certified medical accessory for the watch “Apple Watch” – sensor AliveCor KardiaBand, which allows you to get the ECG in 30 seconds, just by attaching a finger. But, it is very likely that the next generation of Apple Watch 2018 such external sensors will not be needed at all, since they will be delivered already with an integrated ECG sensor.
According to the publication source, thanks to the ECG monitoring function, the clock will be able to record the slightest disturbances in the heart rate and help to detect serious diseases in time. That is, with the addition of this functionality Apple Watch will become more focused on use in the medical field. Now the possibilities of the watch for tracking the work of the heart are limited solely to sports and physical education.
In addition, the built-in ECG sensor will allow Apple to expand the research project Apple Heart Study, recently launched jointly with Stanford University, aimed at studying cardiac rhythm disturbances.
According to source, Apple can implement the function of the cardiogram in Apple Watch 2018 in several ways, one of them is the sensors on the sides of the device that will send a weak electrical impulse to the heart. Of course, as usual, ultimately everything can work quite differently, or Apple will generally refuse to implement such a function, but given the latest trends and potential benefits, a refusal seems unlikely.
