LG has announced a new line of monitors for display at the CES show in January. They stand out for their Nano IPS panel, resolution up to 5K and Thunderbolt 3 connectivity.

Samsung has in the abbreviation of Quantum LED (QLED) its key name for monitors marketing and LG uses Nano IPS for the same. However, the way to improve the accuracy is different. Samsung uses quantum dots to emit light more precisely, and LG uses nano-sized particles to absorb the excess light produced by the LED on the screen. As a result, the new Nano IPS are capable of displaying 98% of the color range of the DCI-P3 standard.
