Corsair has announced the expansion of its Neutron NX500 series, one of the fastest PCIe SSDs in the consumer market that now raises its storage capacity to 1,600 Gbytes.
Like the previous models, Corsair Neutron NX500 is delivered in a standard format HHHL card punched on a PCI-Express 3.0 x4 slot. It uses a Phison PS5007-E7 controller and Toshiba MLC memories manufactured in 15-nanometer processes. All a guarantee because next to those of Samsung and Micron are the most appreciated of the market.
These SSDs connect to the NVMe 1.2 interface to deliver spectacular performance: 3,000 / 2,400 Mbytes per second in sequential read / write data transfer and 4K randomized performance of 300,000 and 270,000 IOPS, respectively.
The higher capacity version of the Neutron NX500 offers a five-year warranty, and its capacity is that of 1600 Gbytes. Its official price is $ 1,575, very high and more expensive comparatively than the other models in the series.
Until the prices of the flash memory do not drop and with it the final price to the client, the users in consumption will have to continue betting by the SATA SSD or include some of these very fast PCIe SSD of smaller capacity and combine them with the hard disks or the mentioned SSD SATA.
