Essential Phone is the new high-end smartphone from Andy Rubin, former CEO of Android, which has recently been officially presented.
As you can see in the images that have been published, it will be a device with a camera that will occupy the top center of the screen, so that the latter component will be wrapped. The design of the Essential Phone reminds a little to the iPhone 5 from the point of view of the sides and corners, but will lack logo on the back and button or sensor on the front. At material level, the casing will be made with a combination of titanium and ceramic that would have to make it quite durable.
In terms of its internal specifications, the Essential Phone will be a high-end device incorporating a SoC Qualcomm Snapdragon 835 with Adreno 540 GPU, 4GB of RAM and 128GB of internal storage. The screen, which will use a protective sheet Gorilla Glass 5, will be 5.71 inches and will support a resolution of 2,560 × 1,312 pixels with an aspect ratio of 19:10.
The front camera will be of 8 megapixels and you can record videos at 4K resolution, while the rear camera will be dual 13 megapixel and f / 1.85 aperture. The battery will be 3.040mAh and will use USB Type-C for data transmission, recharging and audio output, so it will not incorporate a 3.5mm jack connector, although it will bring an adapter for those who still use “old”. At the software level you will have Android 7.1.1. Nougat as an operating system and will feature a fingerprint sensor on the back.
Another aspect that can be emphasized of the Essential Phone is the modular functionality. At the moment it is known that there will be two accessories next to the output of the device: a camera to record at 360 degrees, UHD (3840 × 1920) and 30fps resolution and a dock to recharge the battery. There are plans to release more accessories, although it has not been specified.
The Essential Phone will cost $ 700. With regard to its sale to the public, at the moment it will only be sold in the United States and there is no confirmed date, although it can already be booked from its website. Finally, it will be available in black moon colors, stellar gray, pure white and blue ocean depths.
