Chinese sources leave us a leak with the first renders of the Nokia 2, a terminal range that HMD Global could officially announce in the coming weeks.
In this article we tell you that the Nokia 2 was part of a new batch of smartphones that the Finnish company has in the pits, and in principle the same position as the opposite end of the Nokia 8 (basic range versus top of range).
The renders show us a simple design that follows the line that has adopted HMD Global with the new series of terminals Nokia. We cannot confirm this, but everything points to the Nokia 2 will be finished in polycarbonate (plastic) instead of metal to reduce costs.
With regard to the specifications we can leave a provisional list that is quite reliable:
- 5 inch screen with 720p (HD) resolution.
- SoC Snapdragon 212 with Cortex-A7 1.3 GHz quad-core CPU.
- GPU Adreno 304.
- 1 GB of RAM.
- 4G LTE modem with 150 Mbps download speeds and 50 Mbps upload.
- Cameras of 8 MP and 5 MP.
- 8 GB expandable storage capacity.
- Android 7.1.1 as an operating system.
As we can see it is a very basic model, so much so that it would not even have a fingerprint reader. We do not have details about the price, but seeing what it offers should not cost more than $ 100.
It could be a good choice for those who need a simple and economical terminal, but you must be clear that the SoC Snapdragon 212 is a chip of low consumption and low performance and therefore will offer a rather modest experience.
