HP is renewing its range of equipment and peripherals for games, OMEN, and in addition to the graphics accelerator, has introduced laptops for games, HP OMEN 15 and 17.
These are two models with the aggressive design you see on the cover image differentiated by the screen size of 15.6 or 17.3 inches diagonal. They offer different panels to choose from, from a 60 Hz 1080p with AMD FreeSync, a 120 Hz 1080p with NVIDIA G-Sync or a panel with native 4K resolution.
High-end Intel Kaby Lake processors, Core i7 quad-core model. They are accompanied by up to 32 Gbytes of DDR4 memory and storage system with possibility of HDD, SSD or hybrid systems. HP says they will be easily upgradeable, with a single access panel to memory and storage.
In addition to the integrated graphics, the power for games is achieved by those dedicated to AMD or NVIDIA with which they can be configured. A Radeon RX 550 or GeForce GTX 1060 for the 15-inch model, and an RX 580 or GeForce GTX 1070 on the 17-inch model.
HP OMEN 15 and 17 support virtual reality devices and have a special cooling system to handle long sessions of games. They have a full keyboard Dragon-red, backlit in white with keys in red and 26 keys with anti-ghosting function especially dedicated to use with games.
HP has paid special attention to the sound section and offers a premium audio system with Audio by Bang & Olufsen, HP Audio Boost technology and support for DTS Headphone with 360 degree surround sound.
With Windows 10 pre-installed, HP OMEN 15 and 17 will be available from June 28 on HP.com priced at $ 999 and $ 1,099 respectively for the 15- and 17-inch models.
