HP is one of Microsoft’s partners that will market computers with the new Windows 10 S operating system, and will do so with the HP ProBook x360 convertible. So, HP will release its new version that will be titled as HP ProBook x360 with Windows 10 S.
HP has not complicated life and has chosen the ProBook x360 that was already available with the standard version of Windows 10 in its version “Education Edition”. Curiously, HP ProBook x360 will also be marketed future under the Chrome OS platform, which Microsoft intends to combat with its new platform for the educational system.
Its screen is a 11.6-inch multitouch, with hinges that allow it to rotate up to 360 degrees to favor multiple uses from laptop to tablet. ProBook x360 hardware base is the responsibility of the new Intel platform, Apollo Lake, the ultra-low voltage variant of Kaby Lake.
HP ProBook x360 with Windows 10 is prepared to exceed the standard military resistance, MIL-STD-810G, resisting blows and falls from the height of the desk. A waterproof keyboard helps prevent damage from spilled drinks. Among its connectivity, we see 802.11ac Wi-Fi, Bluetooth 4.2, Ethernet, microSD memory cards, two USB 3.1 ports, one USB Type-C, HDMI 1.4by video output headphone jack.
HP ProBook x360 also supports stylus for taking notes, drawing or other writing assignments, while autonomy is extended to an estimable 11 hours.
The version of HP ProBook x360 with Windows 10 S will offer an Intel Celeron, 4 Gbytes of RAM and 64 GB for storage. The standard edition costs $ 329, pre-installs Windows 10, and offers HP-specific education software. On the other hand, HP ProBook x360 with Windows 10 S will cost $ 299. Personally and given the limitations of Windows 10 S, I would opt for this second version without hesitation.
Microsoft yesterday announced the commercialization of other Windows 10 computers cheaper S, for $ 189. We will see what and at what level, although we suspect that they will already have their equivalent in the market.
