On October 16 Huawei has summoned us to show us proud of his new flagship, the Huawei Mate 10. We already know a lot of things about the new terminal and among them the company’s intention is worth mentioning because it is better than the next terminal of one of its most powerful rivals, the future iPhone 8.
And like Apple, Huawei bets on producing processors for their own consumption and almost officially know that the Mate 10 will arrive with the latest chip of the company, the Kirin 970, whose mass production assure has already begun and we also know could be the world’s first chip with artificial intelligence.
Previous data indicated that TSMC had some problems with the production of its processors with 10 nanometer manufacturing technology, but it seems that they have been solved since this one was expected to begin the next month of September and could have been ahead of a few weeks.
As we say, sources say that the production of such processors has already begun in Taiwan two months after the company’s new phone. According to the data we have previously known about the new chip, it will be an octa-core CPU consisting of four ARM Cortex-A73 cores and four ARM Cortex-A53 cores although it is also rumored that it could arrive with the new Cortex A75 of maximum power.
But the most exciting feature of the new Kirin 970 is that it has a component totally dedicated to favoring the operation of artificial intelligence and reports that the production of these chips could reach 40 million units. As always, this is very interesting on paper, but we will have to wait for the official presentation of the terminal to know what it offers us and what differential feature can make that as claimed Huawei, surpasses the new iPhone 8.
