According to preliminary data, the release of Huawei P11 and P11 Plus is scheduled for late February 2018. The announcement of both new products should take place during the exhibition Mobile Worlds Congress, which will be held from February 26 to March 1 in Barcelona.
According to insider data, the design of Huawei P11 will be substantially redesigned in comparison with its predecessors, which are quite classic smartphones. In particular, the new Huawei P11 can get a large screenless screen like the “Korean” Galaxy S8.
This year, Huawei clearly took a break in introducing innovations to observe the successes and failures of its competitors. Judging by how the company’s officials describe the fallout Mate 10, the direction of development has already been chosen.
Thus, both Huawei P11 and larger Huawei P11 Plus will lose the hardware button “Home” and other controls around the screen, but the latter will increase in size and will occupy about 90% of the surface.
It is assumed that Huawei uses this time extended JDI matrix with a resolution of 1080 × 2160 pixels (aspect ratio of 9 to 18). A variant Plus can even get a QHD + 1440 × 2880 display.
Other Features of Huawei P11
Most likely P11 and P11 Plus will be based on the HiSilicon Kirin 970 chipset. The latter will be presented this fall simultaneously with Huawei Mate 10 and allegedly will be able to compete with Apple’s mobile A11 processor thanks to the four high-performance ARM Cortex-A75 cores.
It is also planned to increase the amount of Huawei P11 memory up to 6 GB in the base version and up to 8 GB in the advanced version. The capacity of the built-in drive is 64/128/256 GB, depending on the modification. The possibility of saving the microSD slot is in doubt.
On the part of the camera Huawei P11 promises to outperform its predecessors:
- New lenses from the legendary German company Leica with optical image stabilization.
- A real optical zoom, not its imitation due to the large resolution of the second sensor.
It is assumed (if you believe the company’s representatives) that the main competitors of Huawei P11 and P11 Plus will, accordingly, be frameless Apple iPhone 8 and iPhone 8 Plus. However, in the spring of 2018, Xiaomi Mi 7 will also come out, so that competition among “framers” is very urgent.
