The Chinese manufacturer of smartphones Meizu at the moment is working immediately on two “frameless” smartphones. The first will be released in January 2018 within the budget line mBlu and is likely to be named Meizu M6S, and the second will be released in March, in honor of the company’s 15th anniversary and will be named Meizu 15 Plus. Today on the web almost simultaneously appeared fresh information about both new products.
The first data appeared on the site of the Chinese regulator TENAA, on the pages of which the models with code numbers M712C, M712M and M712Q are mentioned. This is about the same model M712, designed for the three largest Chinese operators, China Mobile, China Unicom and China Telecom. The conclusion that this is Meizu M6S is made on the grounds that the previous model Meizu M6, which was presented in September this year, received a similar designation M711 with the same prefixes C, Q, and M.
In addition to the designations, the overall dimensions of the smartphone became known – 152 × 72.54 × 8.0 mm – and the display size was 5.7-inches, which makes it possible to confidently say that the Meizu M6S will receive a screen with an aspect ratio of 18: 9. But the size of the battery for the novelty for not quite understandable reason is less than that of the predecessor – 2930 mAh against 3070 mAh from Meizu M6.
The next “live” photos from the network indicate that the Meizu M6S will not get the familiar mBack button with the built-in fingerprint scanner due to the “frameless” design. In this case, the scanner will not be moved to the back panel but integrated into the smartphone’s turn-on button on the side of the case.
It is expected that the model Meizu M6S (mBlu S M712x) will receive the Samsung Exynos 7872 processor and the 3/32 GB and 4/64 GB versions, as well as the price tag around $ 150 (¥ 1000), which will allow it to compete with Xiaomi Redmi 5 Plus.
About the Meizu 15 Plus smartphone, we wrote earlier, now new information appeared, confirming the previous leaks. Unlike the Meizu M6S, the jubilee smartphone will be left with a button with a fingerprint scanner on the front panel, despite the same frameless design
This is clearly indicated by new photos of the smartphone in a black and gray version of the design, showing the front and back of the smartphone. It also clearly shows the dual main camera with vertically oriented lenses and a combined block of laser autofocus and ring flash, similar to the solution in Meizu PRO 6.
The release of the 6-inch Meizu 15 Plus smartphone is expected in March 2018; it will be based on the Snapdragon 835 processor, the younger version of the Meizu 15 with a 5.5-inch screen will be released simultaneously with it, but will receive a more budgetary Snapdragon 660 platform.
