Xiaomi, which shipped the largest number of power banks last year, does not intend to give up this year’s position either. The Chinese manufacturer is actively increasing the offer in this segment. Following the smallest and cheapest portable battery for smartphones, the company released a larger model. This is an updated version of Mi PowerBank 2 with two USB ports. The nominal capacity remained the same – 10 000 mAh, and the price did not change either – $ 12.
The case of Xiaomi Mi PowerBank 2, in which a “high-quality” lithium-polymer battery is placed, is made of anodized aluminum alloy. It is noted that the device is not afraid of corrosion, it is characterized by high strength and protection against impacts.
The device is equipped with two full-sized USB ports, each of which separately delivers a voltage of up to 5 V at a current of 2.4 amps. In total, they can provide power up to 15 watts. The device body also has a power button and four LEDs that allow you to monitor the remaining capacity.
Like the original model, the new model supports two-way fast charging with a power of up to 18 watts (2 A at 9 V and 1.5 A at 12 V). That is, not only mobile devices, but the battery itself can also be quickly charged. The efficiency of Xiaomi Mi Power 2 power conversion is 90%.
The actual capacity of the updated Xiaomi Mi PowerBank 2 is 6500 mAh, which, according to the manufacturer, should be enough to double charge the smartphone Mi 6 and replenish the charge of the iPhone 7 three and a half times.
The manufacturer also claims for Xiaomi Mi PowerBank 2 has a number of stages of protection, including from recharging, surges, overvoltage, high temperatures and short circuits.
