There is no doubt that the Apple iPhone 8 is the most anticipated smartphone of 2017, and for this reason constantly new rumors arise about the details of the terminal. Now, a new leak claims that Apple’s new mobile phone will not have fingerprint sensor built into the screen, as we had believed until now.
The new rumor comes from the hand of Ming-Chi Kuo, an analyst of great prestige specialized in information of the company of Cupertino, has released ten predictions on the iPhone 8. One of them overturns a feature that we already practically gave: it ensures that the device will not integrate the fingerprint scanner into the panel.
Like other experts, the analyst believes that this fall we will see three models of iPhone, one with a completely renovated design with an OLED screen with a size of 5.8 inches and 5.2 inches functional, and two other LCD models with panels 4.7 and 5.5 inches.
According to him, the OLED screen of the iPhone 8, although it would have a virtual Start button, would not support the recognition of fingerprints for two reasons. Firstly, because the entire panel design does not work with any existing capacitive fingerprint recognition system. On the other hand, the second cause is that there are still many technical problems to overcome to provide optimal service under the screen.
Of course, although it will not have fingerprint scanner, Kuo believes that the device will have facial recognition thanks to a 3D depth sensor housed in the front camera. This feature will improve the quality of selfies.
Another prediction of the analyst says that Apple iPhone 8 OLED and the LCD model 5.5 inches will be equipped with 3 GB of DRAM memory to meet the requirements of the dual camera, while the 4.7-inch version will feature 2 GB of DRAM. All of them would have storage options from 64 to 256 GB.
