In late May, the company’s Intel and AMD introduced a new line of high-performance processors – Core i9 and AMD Ryzen Threadripper respectively. As usual, users are divided into two camps, between which began debate on the topic, the decision of which company stronger and better.
At the same time, both companies are in no hurry before the time to disclose the performance of their chips. In June, the network has already got the test results of Performance of AMD Ryzen Threadripper 1950X in Geekbench 4. Then, test it scored a relatively modest 24,539 points in the multi-core test. Now, there are new results demonstrating a much more positive picture.
In the test on July 5, Performance of AMD Ryzen Threadripper 1950X, aka Whitehaven, clocked at 3.4 GHz, scored in the benchmark Geekbench 4074 and 26,768 points in single-core and multi-core tests, respectively. The results are already better than the previous, but the main competitor in the face Intel Core i9-7900X processor still does not hold. In the single-core test, gaining an average of 5400 points, and in the multi-core – 30000 points and above.
Also AMD Ryzen Threadripper 1950X experienced in tests SiSoftware Sandra Processor Arithmetic and Processor Multi-Media. In the first it demonstrated 434,32 GOPS, while the second – 821.64 M/s. Intel Core i9-7900X in these tests, gaining 336,2 GOPS 1 262.68 Mn/s, respectively.
It is important to note that the tested sample is not yet final, so when the processors will go on sale, the final results may differ.
