It was an open secret and has finally been officially confirmed, the Super Nintendo Mini Classic will hit the market next September 29 and will follow the same approach we saw in the NES Mini Classic.
This means that it will have a compact size, that the controls will maintain the same design as the original console and will not be compatible with the cartridges. The games will therefore be pre-installed in the system and everything indicates that it will not be possible to expand catalog by official route.
The Japanese company has not given many details about the operation of the new Super Nintendo Mini Classic, but we hope that they keep all the keys of the NES Mini Classic, including the different formats of emulation and the possibility to save games.
It is confirmed that the console will come with two controllers, HDMI cable and USB and will have the following games preinstalled:
- Contra III: The Alien Wars
- Donkey Kong Country
- Final Fantasy III
- Kirby Super Star
- Kirby’s Dream Course
- The Legend of Zelda: A Link to the Past
- Mega Man X
- Secret of Mana
- Star Fox
- Star Fox 2
- Street Fighter II Turbo: Hyper Fighting
- Super Castlevania IV
- Super Ghouls’ n Ghosts
- Super Mario Kart
- Super Mario RPG: Legend of the Seven Stars
- Super Mario World
- Super Metroid
- Super Punch-Out!!
- Yoshi’s Island
The price of the Super Nintendo Mini Classic console will be $ 79.99. We do not know if Nintendo intends to offer a good stock of this new console, but seeing what happened with NES Classic Mini we recommend that if you are clear that you want one to reserve it from the first day to avoid dislikes.
There are news that it is available on Amazon for pre-order.
