Specifications LG V30 became known due to a series of leaks in popular benchmarks. Unlike the “six” presented in the spring, this time LG decided to release a truly flagship smartphone by the standards of 2017.
At the same time, we cannot say that the LG V30 stands out radically against the background of its other competitors. Moreover, the novelty should lose the main chip of the line V – additional screen. In fact, this is already familiar to us LG G6, but with more advanced electronic “stuffing”.
Processor and memory
Unlike the “compromise” G6 presented in the spring, the new LG V30 will receive the flagship by the standards of 2017 “hardware”: the chipset Snapdragon 835 from Qualcomm. But the amount of RAM remains the same – only 4 GB in the base version.
The truth is that in some countries the advanced version of the LG V30 will be sold, which has as many as 6 GB of fast RAM LPDDR4x with a clock speed of 1866 MHz, but against the backdrop of OnePlus 5 and ZTE Nubia Z17 with their 8 Gb “RAM” is still not an outstanding figure.
Not so long ago the prototype, LG V30 scored 1899 points in the single-core benchmark of the popular benchmark GeekBench and 6350 in the multi-core benchmark. This result is slightly worse than the OnePlus 5 mentioned above, which was recently recognized as the most powerful smartphone by the version of the other performance testing utility – AnTuTu.
Rumors attributed to the new flagship LG display AMOLED with a diagonal of 6.2 inches and a resolution of 1440 × 2880. The design itself is a cross between LG G6 and Samsung Galaxy S8.
In this case, according to reports from insiders, LG decided to refuse this time from an additional customizable screen, which was the main feature of previous smartphones of the series – LG V10 and LG V20. In principle, a fairly logical move, considering how much it was “in demand” in practice.
However, at the same time, the refusal to an additional screen raises the question of the future of the V-series: if it does not have its key feature, then why is it even needed if there is a basic top-line G?
According to preliminary data, the new LG V30 will receive virtually the same basic camera as the LG V30. That is a pair of sensors with a resolution of 13 Mp and different lenses. The first one will be equipped with a “width”, and the second one will be equipped with a “TV set”. In the “sum”, this combination provides the smartphone with a similarity to the hardware zoom.
As can be seen in the images above, the main camera module will protrude slightly above the rear surface of the smartphone, however not so much that it can become critical. Front cam is supposed to be simple and “without frills” – 5 Mp and aperture f / 2.2.
The exact capacity of the battery LG V30 is not yet known. But there is evidence that the smartphone will receive support for the latest generation of fast charging Qualcomm QuickCharge 4.0 and even – wireless charging. In the case of the latter, three standards will be available: Qi, WPC and PMA, but for each region the set of options will be limited.
As can be seen in the photo above, the back cover of the flagship LG V30 is made of impact-resistant glass (Corning Gorilla Glass 5 is expected), which allows the installation of an induction charging coil. Moreover, the company already has experience with such solutions.
The above prototype LG V30 from the benchmark GeekBench is running Android 7.1.2 Nougat. At the same time, it is worth remembering that last year’s V20 was the first smartphone that got “nougat” right “out of the box”. For this reason, there is a rumor on the net that the new LG flagship will be the first device with the new Android O.
It is expected that, like the LG G6, the new V30 will not only get protection from water and dust by IP68, but will also be resistant to mechanical damage in accordance with the US military standard MIL-STD-810G.
