Finally, the date of the announcement of the flagship Huawei Mate 10 was confirmed by an official teaser from the manufacturer (or type-official). The presentation of the smartphone will take place, as expected earlier, on October 16, 2017 in Munich.
The event promises to pass under the slogan “Meet the device worth waiting for” (you can translate as “Meet the device that is worth it to wait for it”). As already noted above, the authenticity of the teaser announcement Huawei Mate 10 has been confirmed.
First, ostensibly, Huawei will refrain from “authorized” leaks to the press before October 16 (“No More Rumor”). That does not exclude, of course, third-party information sinks.
Secondly, the price of Huawei Mate 10 will probably not be 1100 dollars, as expected earlier, but “only” 800. Even so, the smartphone will become the most expensive Chinese flagship this year and will be on par with the top-end Apple products, LG and Samsung.
The key chip of the smartphone will be a frameless 6-inch screen with an aspect ratio of 9 to 18. The trading name that Huawei came up with was “EntireView Display”. Unlike competitors, the resolution will be only FulHD + 1080 × 2160 pixels, not QHD +, like Galaxy Note 8 and LG V30.
Due to the lack or maximum increase of the side frames, the size of the Huawei Mate 10 will be noticeably smaller than that of last year’s Mate 9. It is likely that the manufacturer will refuse a 3.5 mm headphone and headset connector, as the amount of available space inside the case will decrease.
It is also worth mentioning that Huawei CEO Richard Yu said not long ago that the new Mate 10 will be even more powerful than the Apple iPhone 8. A bold statement, given the fact that apple processors are not ahead of the first year performance of all solutions from competitors.
It is known that inside the Huawei Mate 10 will be installed mobile processor HiSilicon Kirin 970. If the configuration of the 4 x ARM Cortex A73 + 4 x ARM Cortex A53 kernels is preserved, then there is no question of confronting the Apple A11. Neither the increased clock frequency, nor the more subtle technical process here will not help.
Competition Huawei Mate 10 vs Apple iPhone 8 on an equal footing will be possible only in the event that instead of the cores Cortex A73 will stand four newer Cortex A75. In principle, there is nothing fantastic in this: ARM presented its development in May 2017.
