It was the year 2016 when ZTE was presented in Barcelona with a new generation of terminals of its line Blade. The Blade V7 and the Blade V7 Lite came into the Mobile World Congress that year, and a year later they landed the line that would replace them, the Blade V8. But it seems that in ZTE have had a little attack of nostalgia and the V7 is updated, slightly, to premiere again this year.
No such movement should be missed, probably due to the good sales of the original model and the attempt of a brand recognition that others have tested like Huawei with its P8 Lite 2017. The ZTE Blade V7 Plus is already a reality and comes keeping almost everything of the model of last year, with a couple of slight changes.
When we say that the ZTE Blade V7 Plus is very similar to the original we say it literally. In the new terminal, for example, the IPS LCD screen of 5.2 inches and resolution FullHD last year is maintained, even the design of the front remains unchanged with the Home button in the lower central part.
For the processor, it repeats the quad-core chip of the 2016 model. We return to the MediaTek MT6753 at 1.3GHz and accompanied by 2GB in RAM and 16GB in terms of internal storage. For a renewal in 2017, we would have grateful to grow up to at least 3GB of RAM and 32GB, despite the possibility of expanding the internal memory with a microSD.
For the cameras we have 13 megapixels as the main sensor, aided by a dual-tone LED flash, native HDR and by phase detection in focus. If we look at the front camera, 5 megapixels for self-portraits. Although the rear part does change, we find a fingerprint reader under the camera lens, an interesting addition to the original model.
We arrived at the battery and here we appreciate the second change in this renovation. Of the 2,500 mAh of battery of the V7 we happened to 2,540 mAh, something is something although the increase is not remarkable. This ZTE Blade V7 Plus will have LTE connectivity, Bluetooth 4.0, WiFi, GPS and FM radio. It will have dimensions of 146 x 72.5 x 7.5 mm and a weight of 136 grams.
ZTE Blade V7 Plus, availability and price
The new ZTE Blade V7 Plus lands with Marshmallow as an operating system, another small disappointment in its renewal, and does so for now in both Russia and Australia. It would be logical to end up treading every territory that touched the original Blade V7 but for now there is no news about a possible international expansion or, of course, local prices in each region. It arrives in gold and gray.
